Who doesn’t like gifts?

A lot of them, but me! I love gifts and this year more than the physical gifts I loved the emotional gifts, I received from my loved ones. Gifts are not just giving each other materialistic things. It is the experience, the emotions, the memories that matter.

3 Best Gifts I received this year:

1. Spending time with loved ones:

I am not a social person. My life has only three people in it and I am not under-exaggerating. I am serious; I don’t keep in touch with people as my heart knows who will stay forever and who won’t. I love being with three people the most –My mom, my younger brother and my best friend aka The Lost Soul. This year I realised the importance of these three beautiful people in my life and I loved spending time with them. After the countless fights I’ve had with them, they have never left my side.

2. Self-Love:

This year was my first ‘Singlehood’ birthday after 3 years and the liberation was amazing. I had jeopardized my entire life for so called ‘love’ for a guy and then when I was left alone, I realised the most important thing in life is myself. This year I chose to love myself, to dress up for myself, to eat what I love and to get the rejuvenated Ashmita back.

3. New Job:

I have been unemployed for quite some time and had to start my career afresh. Initially I was a little reluctant, but then I just decided to take it all in and be grateful. Even if the salary is low or I had to give up my position, I at least have a job. I see people sitting on bus stands with no jobs and my heart aches. I am grateful for this job.
