My Top 7 Songs for 2016

I like music, though I am not an ardent fan of music but every now and then I love listening to the same old track. I am an old person in the body of a young girl – I am crazy about old songs and I love to listen to them at all times.

Using a smart phone and not having a single song on it, is quite a shocker for every person I meet. My brother tells me I am wasting the storage of my phone by not using the space for music. As for me, I believe that the music on your playlist is what defines you and lately all the songs I had, were borrowed from here and there and didn’t really touch my soul. So I deleted every song I had on my phone – to be precise I deleted 985 songs in total.

2016 was a year with too much heartbreak all over the world. Also, Bollywood has given us some songs that really touched my heart. I heart these songs:

7 Songs that went on the top of my list in 2016

  1. The Break up Song, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil:

This song from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has certainly topped many lists this year. I am neither an Anushka Sharma nor Ranbir Kapoor fan, but despite of that I loved this song. This song became like the Break-Up Anthem for all the girls, and trust me the girls who were not going through a break up also heard this song 100 times a day.

  1. Nashe Si Chadh Gayi, Befikre:

This next bollywood song from Befikre has a French touch to it, which is exotic. The reason this song goes on the top of my list is because, Ranveer Singh is one of the hottest guys in the Industry at the moment. Plus, in this particular song I loved the actress –Vaani Kapoor. #GirlLove

  1. High Heels Te Nachche, Ki & Ka:

High Heels is an old song but reused in Ki & Ka starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. The reason I love this song and it goes on the top of my list is because of Yo Yo Honey Singh. He is one of India’s rapper who has got the rapping industry on the wheels.

  1. Zingaat, Sairat:

This one is though not a Bollywood song, but Sairat, the movie did have quite a stir in the Indian Cinema Industry. This party song from the Marathi Blockbuster Sairat has to be on the list of every person. And believe me, I am not a dancer, but every time I listen to this song, my legs go a little out of control.

P.S. The actor is too cute!!!

  1. The Humma Song, OK Jaanu:

I wasn’t so eager to watch this video or any video from OK Jaanu and that is because it reminded me of my ex. But how can one miss looking at Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s chemistry? Also this SONG – it is a classic. Though this song belongs to 2016 but this is an A.R. Rahman Classic!!!

  1. Kaun Tujhe, M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story:

I am not a big fan of cricket. I watch it and like it but not a hardcore fan. I like Dhoni because he is the Captain of our team and all. The movie was also moderate but this song – it takes me to another world. It makes me cry and smile at the same time.

  1. Ae Dil hai Mushkil (Title Track):

Goosebumps! This is the second track from the same movie on this list. The movie is moderate but did really well. The titile track of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (also with the same name), was sent to me by my BFF and the first time I heard it, I played it on repeat. The song gives me chills.

  1. Just Go To Hell Dil, Dear Zindagi:

Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan – two of my favourites in Dear Zindagi that talks about mental illness – how can something with this combination, not be playing on my list! This song is for all those weak-hearted people who fall in love and then regret.

P.S. As you all know I usually make a list post with only 7 or less items, but this time I had to mention the 8th one as I couldn’t miss this song.

These are the songs from 2016 that I have been listening on repeat on YouTube. What are your 2016 favorites?
