Reader’s Choice: 7 ways to become happy from being sad

A reader (vrittikhawani) sent me an email to write on how to be happy instantly after sadness?

I am the saddest person in this world.  If you are looking for ‘Being Sad’ on Google, it might show me in the search (Over Exaggerating). I am the kind who wants things to go in a proper manner and when it doesn’t I am sad. Frankly, I get sad every weekend, if I have to go out or have to stay at home with mom and brother. What makes me happy is being alone. Isn’t that sad again…?

7 ways to become happy from being sad:

  1. Eat Sweet:

Chocolates can make you happy. A little sweet or chocolates makes you happy. It is a scientifically proven fact.  If you are sad try having a small piece of chocolate (I need the entire bar of chocolate) and there you go!

  1. Call your Beffy:

Learnt this new term ‘Beffy’ from a cousin of mine. It means Best Friend. Call your best friend and tell them what’s on your mind. I am sure a best friend therapy is better than any other therapy. Works perfectly fine for me.

  1. Keep the Phone aside and on the music:

Social Networking Sites can at times make you super sad and depressed. So just put your phone on Flight Mode, switch on the music and keep your phone on charge and just lie down. You will feel good.

  1. Funny Movie Marathon:

Switch on the series of American Pie, Hangover or Friends Serial and keep watching them back to back. This makes you laugh and you will be happy.

  1. Be creative:

I love writing. And I am the saddest person in this universe. So whenever I am sad, I write something. It may start out with anger or sadness, but it gets converted to a quite logical write up.

  1. Sleep:

Sleeping is temporary, but it does make you happy. It keeps your head cool and relaxed.

  1. Be happy with yourself:

There is just one person who will never leave you no matter what. That is you. Be happy with yourself. Brace yourself. Take yourself on a movie date, dinner date, and brunch. Go for a retail therapy just by yourself and buy things only that you love. Keeping yourself happy, is when you will become happy.

I believe in ‘Thoughts become Things…’ from The Secret.

Well Reader, i am not sure why you are sad. But if this makes you happy, i will be happy. Remember, life is too small to be sad and to be wasted in tears.
