Post 1.: No Shopping Month
How does it feel when a foodie is asked not to eat, or a photographer not to eat or a writer/blogger not to write? It feels devastated right? I am currently in a similar phase. I am asked not to shop for a month. It is a ‘No Shopping Month’ for me. This rule is imposed on me by my Inner Goddess so that my Inner Devil doesn’t encourage me to spend a lot of money on unnecessary online products that I keep buying month after month.
Though whatever I buy are economical but as it is said anything purchased in excess is a waste of money. Let that be books to read, clothes to cover your body or shoes to cover your feet. I have been spending lavishly though since the time I have had this new craze for online shopping. I have so many books still unopened and unread. I have clothes that I have worn just once and then I forget about it. I have so many cosmetics that I rarely use.
This entire fiesta of online shopping has affected my bank balance tremendously. I am addicted to it. I can be a certified Shopaholic within no time. I would’ve given myself the title if I had a Credit Card. But by the grace of God, I don’t have any. All the shopping done by me doesn’t affect my Credit Scores for sure but does affect my Bank Balance as all of them are done through my Salaried Account.
Luckily for me I have resisted buying things till date since the month started. Though I have been gifted 4 inches high Heels and silver ring with pearl by my mom for Diwali. I am so glad to see my bank still having my salary in place. It feels so good but again I can feel the itch to buy things online every time I get a mail from Jabong, Flipkart, Lime Road or any other online shopping sites I have subscribed to.
I came up with this post because of Ambika’s Post.
Anyway I am participating in the NaBloPoMo. I will try to publish a post each day in November, no matter how small or big it is. Let’s see how it goes.
By the way, my wishes for Diwali go out to all my readers and bloggers. Have a happy, safe and Eco-Friendly Diwali. Cherish the sweets in moderation (for over –weight people like me) and send out your wishes to each one.
