How does it feel when someone calls you with some other name? How does it feel when someone compares you to someone else? How does it feel?
Some might be happy if they are compared to someone famous or like their moms or dads or their favorite football player! But there are some WEIRD people like me who are frustrated. My mom says, ‘accept the fact that you are like her! So what if she is prettier and successful then you…’ Wow mom, I don’t need this during my difficult times coping up with a shattered friendship and an unemployed life!
So where does all this come from…? Ah! Fortunately or unfortunately, I look like a cousin – first COUSIN! I love her a lot! She’s been my inspiration for many things! When I was young I used to feel happy when someone said, ‘wow the two sisters look the same!’ but as when I started becoming a teenager it started bugging me off. And now as an adult it’s getting on my nerves!
Fine, we have similar eyes and that’s it! Rest the looks are same as any female in my paternal family! Actually my dad looked like his mother and sisters, and my cousin looks like my grandmother and I look like my father! So you see the connection? Well I was talking to a friend ah actually friend turned acquaintance! Yeah, we are no more in touch and just met her in the train! So she told me, ‘Oh you look exactly like HER! Wow!’ and I smiled back in confusion and thought it might be a compliment! Of course it was a compliment, but we don’t want to be compared at all time of our life!
Knowingly, when I was born, my parents named me after her! Similar names, similar eyes, similar face cut! Ah! Anyone would say we are sisters! Okay! I am happy with the fact, there is hardly I can do anything about it! But people stop comparing!
Also it is irritating when people say a Bengali actresses’ name when I tell them that I am a Chatterjee! People have their own identities! No one needs to be like someone! I am not like anyone, I am just who I am. I am a verified and extremely happy cry baby, who is going through a hormonal change AGAIN in life, with a six-year shattered friendship, no job, completely broke, and adding to all these there are people who keeps me comparing to people!
I seriously think some people need training on how to behave with a person with lots of mental and emotional problems! I’d love to be the trainer… 😉
Let’s get back to some serious blogging people! Happy weekend to people who have plans and happy weekend to those like me who have decided to spend the weekend at home with some coffee, cold water, chips and a computer!

I’m in a similar situation. I’ look like so many people… even here in WordPress, my picture has been likened to some famous person,,,, and it’s funny, I don’t resemble them at all….. And I even blogged about it, because the comparing to one person by so many is so unusual.
Cheers !
