I am writing a big story on Maya… I don’t know what I have started with and how far will it go but I am really excited about it… well for people who don’t know… Maya is my fictional character… she is the character that I use whenever I write any fictional story… I started writing about Maya when I was in 12th standard… it was just a college assignment, where my Professor of English asked us to write any story…
That entire day after my college and classes I just sat on my study table wondering, “What to write!!” I had heard my friends discussing about their assignment… and like any kid they decided to write something like ‘the thirsty crow…’ I obviously didn’t want to write something like that… I wanted something original… something that would be ME…
I finally decided that just sitting on the chair wouldn’t take me anywhere… so I just grabbed a pen and a paper and started writing something… by then I didn’t knew that I can ever write fictional stories… because I was just good in writing normal essays… when came the time to name my character it didn’t take me longer to decide that the name would be Maya… well maybe I’m a big Shahrukh Khan Fan and hence I kept the name Maya… but since then I kept writing about Maya…
Maya is no one!!! She is just the girl that is there inside every girl and the girl whom every guy would want to love… she is simple, ambitious, strong at heart, loves writing, and many more qualities that depends from story to story… she is a bit of everything from different girls I know… she knows a bit of everything… she is too perfect to be true!!!
I read it somewhere; that every writer should love their characters… well I totally love my characters… though the other characters in my stories might change with every new story… but some things would always be common, like; Maya, love story, independent girl, problems in life, etc…
I once tried writing a story in which I didn’t use the word Maya, and trust me that story is till date in the middle of nowhere… I might think of working on that story once again and this time will change the name from Shamim to Maya… let’s see if it works… maybe it’s a fascination that I have with this name… most of the stories that I write are woman oriented, because it’s in the heart!!! At times, I write what I feel but use Maya’s name instead…
I am really working hard on Maya this time… let’s see if it works this time… I will keep posting about the usual events of mine while I am writing on Maya… I would never want to stop writing… though I know hardly anyone reads my blog posts but then as I have always believed that, writing makes me happy and I would want to see myself happy…
